CTRL-S (formerly known as Controlled Substance, and one-half of the duo known as Illformants) is an LA-based producer with releases on labels such as Moving Shadow, Subtitles, Project 51, Nemesis Recordings, Warm Communications, and Thermal Recordings - to name a few.

His music career started in the SF Bay area after earning a degree in Audio Engineering at university. He's been making music and experimenting with sound since the late 90's and his work ranges from dance format vinyl, to sound design for games and TV adverts.

Recently he's focused his efforts on creating music with a cinematic, story-driven approach. His latest release for Nemesis Recordings, "Re-Entry", is centered around a science fiction narrative concept.

This is the second release for CTRL-S on Nemesis, following on from his track "Durty Sound" which appears on the 10 Years of Nemesis LP.
